Afternoon Anecdotes – Minus Me

November 27, 2010 By Andre Archimbaud

Slipping
Removing points of view
Gripping
To the soul I thought I knew

Eyes don’t work the way they used to.
My thoughts don’t have me come back to me.

Time passes
I lose sight of my sights.
Lost site of the time.
Lost site of the why’s.
It all slipped all away.

Minus me…
The world is left to you
I know you’ll miss me
My leaving you is true.

Cannot think the way I did.
Can’t talk the way I did.
Walking in shadows
Is the way that I hid.

Time and tide collide
Feeling memory slip
Like the tide
That’s lost the shore.

I don’t see what I used to see…
Can barely be what I used to be.
My hands used to work…
My legs used to walk.
I just want to be free.

Slippery slopes are all that surround.
My arms and legs feel that they’re bound…
To the times…
To the places…
Cannot make a sound.

Minus me…
Missing time and place.
Minus me…
The world has lost its shape.

sharing is caring!
