Barstool Blues – Only Man Not Laughing

May 8, 2010 By Andre Archimbaud

Nothing like being the only man not laughing
At a bar full of smiles.
Nothing like being the only man who’s not seen his soul for a while.

Caressing the time we used to spend,
Wondering if you ever did care.
Suppressing the tears and the fears, wondering, too, if you even were there.

Nothing like being the only man not laughing
At a bar full of smiles.
Nothing like being the only man whose not seen his soul for a while.

You cannot replace all the time I spent with you.
You can’t go home again.
Staying right here…upending my fear…
You have your answer then.

If there’s one thing that was taught me
One thing I know.
It’s how to get out of a jam.

If there’s one thing that was taut to me
Was the ice that was breaking
The sand.

Nothing like being the only man not laughing
At a bar full of smiles.
Nothing like being the only man whose not seen his soul for a while.

Never thought it’d end this way.
Solemnity revealed.
Taking this life…come what may.
Life is an onion best peeled…

Nothing like being the only man not laughing
At a bar full of smiles.
Nothing like being the only man whose not seen his soul for a while.
