Look To Lonely

November 16, 2014 By Andre Archimbaud

There’s a look to lonely eyes…
Sad & sallow droops ’round the brow
And ’round the mouth.

There’s a blankness that belies…
Mad & hollow loops browned by frowns
And life’s obstacles & clowns.

Longing to look forward to something
More than day-to-day.
Stronger than you’d think
But softer underneath.
Comes a point…
Nothing else to say.

Hidden times & trials
Backed into a corner…
Shared the misery with no one
So there’s no one to run to.

Fragments of pain & passion
Realized in years & tears
That can’t be regained
Or reimagined.

There’s a look to lonely eyes…
Bad & embittered memories
Engulf the wholeness of the soul.
Feel so deeply the loss of all control.

There’s a frankness that belies…
A sound of echoes gasping
At the source of all its woe.
Sagging center cuts a blow.

There’s a look to lonely eyes…

sharing is caring!
