Subway Stories – Arms To The Sky (To @ajleon & @melissaleon)

April 8, 2011 By Andre Archimbaud

The ride up was always so smooth…
Heaven seemed within reach.
In a year or two, anything and everything…
I could buy each.

The elevator always seemed to bump
Around the floor I needed off.
I wondered, sometimes, if I should jump
To a life more rich in mystery
No fearing of the loss.

Suit & tie & arm & arm.
We leaped…
Arms to the sky.
Knew the compass wouldn’t lie.
Teach & tell us how to live.
Show & tell us how to die.

There are no spots on the green green grass of home.
We left that all behind.
Left it in the dust, to see the world…
To roam.

Love ya babe…
Can’t imagine a world
Where we don’t paint
With the biggest, broadest brushes.

Saw the ocean, saw the mountains
Glimpsed the sky, peeked at desserts.

We all own it…it is ours.
Of all the things we’ve seen together
Seeing you in front of me showed me a bit forever.

So glad I jumped that jump.
Cannot argue the outcome.
I set the sites I see…
Most of all, it’s you and me.

sharing is caring!
