Subway Stories – Raison d’Etre

I want to give you a little background on me…reasons to keep you coming back and reasons for you to understand what I do.
To me, this series (Subway Stories) is simply an extension of me and what I do. I ride the train at least 2 times per day and observe some of the behavior on it – by people, animals and others (‘others’ being groups of both!).

As I tweeted last night (follow @arshimbo), I am doing these pretty free-form with little-to-no editing. I am a fan of free and open thinking. In the business world, it’s called ‘brainstorming.’. In comedy, it’s called riffing. In music, it’s called jamming. So, here, for now, I shall do that.

Let me exercise that muscle, let me open myself and you to that energy. Sit back and enjoy…read or don’t.

I am such a fan of jazz that if I didn’t at least try this sort of mental output, I’d feel inauthentic. I guess that’s some of the reason I love New York City and the subway – not because of the shared history that each played in the other’s fate. But to me, there is no better place in the world to listen to jazz music than in the subway. The only real subway in the world is in New York.

So, for as long as I do these ‘Subway Stories’ postings (and I will do others as the mood strikes me), know that you’re getting something straight from me, off the cuff. Some days will be about me, my life, my passions, some days will be about money, news or politics. It will always be authentic, that is for sure.

In other words, me brainstorming, riffin’ and jammin’…
