Subway Stories – Pretty Sure I Know

June 21, 2010 By Andre Archimbaud

I’m pretty sure I know
Who said the things
You said
I’m pretty sure I know
Who did the things
They did…to me.

Subtraction from reaction
Leaves little else behind.
Little doubt
As to who or what or why.

Floating to the surface…
Shows all the world’s awry.
All the time that passes
Shows that all we do is die.

I’m pretty sure I know
Who did the things
They did…
I’m pretty sure I know
Who said the things
You said…about me.

Walking paces in my shoes.
Staring faces in the eye.
Footsteps stand empty
The sands of time…they fly.

It is all too precious
Time and sand and stone.
Breathe it in…spin around.
Feel it in the fiber of your bones.

I’m pretty sure I know
Who said the things
You said…
I’m pretty sure I know
Who did the things
They did…to me.

They don’t know me…they don’t know me. They don’t know me…

sharing is caring!
