Subway Stories – Smile

December 15, 2008 By Andre Archimbaud

Yesterday was the happiest day I’ve had in a very long time.
It was long and soft and full of rhymes.
I did things I’d never done before.
I saw things never seen.

There is little better than
Waking up with a smile on your face.
It’s the residue of yesterday.
All the thoughts and feelings returned upon your brow.
Waking up with a smile on your face.

The broad strokes and small strokes all combined
Sky met sea met land
The end of the horizon
Where the sun played so refined.

Yesterday was the happiest day I’ve had in a such a long time.
It was long and soft and full of rhymes.
I felt things I had never felt before
My heart and mind pushed wide.

There is little better than
Waking up with a smile on your face.
Residue from yesterday.
All the thoughts and feelings returned upon your brow.

There is little better than
Waking up with a smile on your face.
It’s the residue of yesterday.
All the thoughts and feelings returned upon your brow.
Waking up with a smile on your face.
