Subway Stories – The Giving End

June 21, 2012 By Andre Archimbaud

The giving end seems sweet relief
You’ve told them how you feel.
Told them to pack up their things.
Made sure that it feels real.

Deeper than a knife cuts skin…
Their pain begins. Sinks in.

In the end, it’s bitter.
It’s the place you reject the life you’ve lived
Better you not kid her
About the shapes & ways you see things lining up.

The receieving end ain’t easy.
Not the slightest bit.
The pain she feels don’t feel like anything.
You can see it causes fits.

Deeper than a knife cuts skin…
Their pain begins. Sinks in.

Pushing bounds…
Making sounds….
Running ’round…
Not fit for this town.

Giving end is no relief.
You told them how you see.
Took away your things.
Nowhere left to be.

Warned that it was bitter…
Need to make it better.
Better you not kid her
About the way you upset her.

Deeper than a knife cuts.
Their pain begins. Sinks in.

The receieving end ain’t easy.
Not no way, no how.
The pain is felt across the board.
Think I’ll stay here for now.
