Subway Stories – Too Much To Forgive

November 24, 2010 By Andre Archimbaud

It would be one thing…
It would be another entirely…
If I had raised my hand to the sun
In hopes of the one.

It would be another entirely
If I had walked away in anger.
I walked away a stranger.

I always spoke my mind.
Told you what I was feeling.
Even in the end When it was clear
That I was reeling.

All too often…all too long…
I was told to stay away.
All the time…all too long…
Me, my heart, my love, kept at bay.

Too much to forgive…
I chose my time to live.
Too much to let go
Through the sieve.
Too much to forgive.

Standing open-armed…
You know I never harmed…YOU.
Always wanted the best for us…
I know you lost that trust.

I can’t be held for the things you couldn’t do.
Will not be put upon a cross for all the sins of you.
I didn’t walk away in anger.
I walked away a stranger.

Too much to forgive…
I chose my time to live.
Too much to let go
Through the sieve.
Too much to forgive.

sharing is caring!
