Subway Stories – Web of Lies

April 13, 2011 By Andre Archimbaud

Flying high is the kind of flying
We all die to do.
Seeking higher heights…
On eagles’ wings or angels’
It should be your wind that guides me.

Your web of lies
Woven over time
Shouldn’t be my safety net.
Your fears are all ties.
Around your web of lies.
You’ve tied yourself to yourself.

Slippery is the slope you walk.
Always sliding as you march forward.
One step up, two steps back.
Any wonder?
Web of lies.

The web is thick as thieves.
And it keeps you in your place.
So that you’ll never leave.

Your web of lies
Woven over years.
Will not be my safety net.
Not my fault, your tears.
The harder I struggle, the more I am caught.
Yet, my freedom is sought.
