What Dreams May Come

January 26, 2010 By Andre Archimbaud

I quite literally just woke up from a dream.  It’s been about 30 minutes since I did.

After about 20 minutes of slumber – I was in and out of this sleep, in fact – I was just starting to dream about another project that I had started…or I thought I had started.  I was walking around a bare theatre, and someone was showing me the ropes of the room.  As I woke up, I said to myself, ‘So, when were you supposed to start that project?’  I thought I’d forgotten to put it in my calendar or my BlackBerry.

No.

In fact, I’d been having this dream for some time.

Imagine your mind’s three parts – the conscious, unconscious and the superconscious – each being dams.  This dream in a semi-conscious state was like me being able to peer into the other portions of my mind.

I cannot express in words, in plain prose, how amazing this feeling was.

You see, I needed this dream.  I have just taken on a new job and I am really excited about it.  It will allow me to do what I’ve done best over my years in advertising and media.  But, I also have some side projects that I am working on.

This dream represented these side projects.  I want for them as much as I want for my full-time gig to succeed.
