When I Go…

February 5, 2014 By Andre Archimbaud

When I go
I don’t want no dressing gown
No parade about town.

When I go
I want no one to appraise
Just set me all ablaze.
When I go
Open up no door
Nothing will be sore.

Don’t go
Where there’s no recovery.
Don’t go
Darkening doors whose jams you can’t uphold.
Don’t show
Too much of the self of you you try so hard to hide.

When I go
I don’t want no headstone
No such waste.

When I go
I don’t want no kind words
That are said too much in haste.

When I go
I don’t want no nothing
It will all be too late.

Don’t go
Darkening doors whose jams you can’t uphold.
Don’t go
There’s no recovery.
Don’t show
Too much of the self of you you try so hard to hide.
Don’t show…don’t go.

When I’m gone…
